Eugene Bortnick - about the artist

	Another of Dr. Bortnick's works, Bob Holloway Painting, received the Juror's Choice award during the 18th Annual Gallery exhibition - Art in the Woods 2001. Bo Bartlett, an American figurative painter of international acclaim, judged this event of over 850 entries. The Cloister Gallery in Topeka, Kansas hosted a one-man show of Eugene's work during March of 2001.

	On May 5, 2001, Dr. Bortnick received another Award of Merit for his painting titled My Father at 95 during the 31st Annual International Exhibition of the Louisiana Watercolor Society in New Orleans. The event attracted 575 entries submitted by artists from 28 states and four foreign countries. The juror, Henry Casselli, NA, AWSDE, is an artist of international renown.

	In June of 2002 Eugene’s watercolor painting, O.R. #2 was selected by The Kansas Watercolor Society from over 400 artists with only 86 works chosen for exhibition in the 23rd annual seven state exhibition. Dr. Mark Maslan, of Mission Hills, Kansas purchased this painting at The Wichita Center For The Arts.
